Did the Apostle Paul Attain Entire Sanctification or Sinless Perfection?

Jesus said be perfect (Matt. 5:48).

Paul attained perfection (Phl. 3:15).

Paul said – “Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded” Phl 3:15

A few verses earlier he said he had not attained physical perfection – glorification (Phl 3:12), but here we see that he did attained moral perfection – sanctification.

Paul also said he always has a “conscience void of offense,” (Acts 24:16) which means he wasn’t aware of any sin in his life.

In 1 Timothy 1:15 Paul said he was the chief of sinners, but the immediate context says this is because of his conduct prior to conversion – blasphemy and persecuting the church (1 Tim. 1:13).

True Christians “were” sinners (1 Cor. 6:11), the Bible says but now they are saints all over the New Testament, people who are new creatures in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17).

“And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?” 1Pe 4:18
