  1. I’m thankful for this testimony and that it is on this ministry website. Let us all be reminded, gladly, that the evangelist Duncan Campbell was a godly Reformed Presbyterian. He whole-heatedly is in the line of the reformers and held to he biblical Doctrines of Grace (sometimes referred to as “calvinism”) and the sovereignty of God in salvation. He is in the heritage and line of the late great reformed evangelist Dr. Ian Paisley! Campbell also regularly reminds us that even revival, though we seek it, is a sovereign work of God also! Duncan Campbell would have lovingly, but strongly rejected much of the theology espoused on this website. But, he would do it lovingly. He was a wonderful godly blood-bought follower of Christ! Thank you again.

    • Actually Duncan Campbell was an Arminian, though he preached in Presbyterian Churches sometimes as a guest. Calvinists opposed Duncan he said, for supposedly preaching “strange doctrine,” because he preached Christian Perfection or Second Blessing Holiness. “That yielding of myself in the presence of God leads me into the radical experience of what I like to term entire sanctification” Duncan Campbell

      • That Duncan Campbell was an Arminian is historically false – irrefutably. With regard to this argument, I care not whether one is an Arminian or a Calvinist, but truth is truth and we simply need to be correct about this – Duncan Campbell was a self-professed Calvinist (thought not an “extreme” Calvinist…but a Calvinist nonetheless). I almost consider myself an expert on the life of Duncan Campbell…..but that would be a bit of an exaggeration 🙂 . But it states my point. Your statement that Duncan Campbell is an Arminian is contrary to not only church history, but also his biography, and most importantly his own book on the first hand account of the Lewis Revival. I’m thankful for your article on his life, he was a wonderful man. Even if he is not in your theological camp, you can still praise God for his life. God used him mightily. But we need to be honest. Can you provide SPECIFIC citations of Duncan Campbell EXCLUSIVELY renouncing his Calvinism and proclaiming his conversion to Arminianism? Nothing short of that will do.
