MISSION TRIP: THE DALLAS PRIDE EVENT

When you have both a pride event in your local area AND a team of street preachers coming in from across the country to preach it, you have to join them!

It had been many years since I preached the Dallas pride event. Specifically, since 2005. It used to be much bigger and full of much older people. This event was much smaller and full of young people. I suspect the old sinners I preached to back in 2005 have passed already. Which is why we need to keep preaching for people to get right with God! Every day people are dying, some groups faster than others!

What did we preach? The same thing we preach everywhere else, to everyone else – The Gospel! We warned about sin, hell, and judgement. We preached the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. And we called sinners to repentance and faith for salvation.

Just like in the book of Acts: some mocked, some listened, and some got serious. When you are scattering seed, it always falls on a variety of soil.

We were the only group out there evangelizing and witnessing, which is a pretty sad reflection upon all the churches in Dallas and Fort Worth. This is literally the buckle of the Bible Belt. Dallas is full of mega churches that look so big I’ve confused them for the Airport! Yet street preachers had to come from OUT OF STATE to preach this event because the local churches weren’t doing it. This is a shame and needs to change. Believers everywhere need to rise up, take the gospel to the streets, and win back our nation for the Lord!

As it typical with any event, once it gets dark it gets more dangerous. Especially when the event is serving alcohol. The later it gets, the drunker people become and the more prone to violence they are.

I was amazing that this event was serving alcohol inside because as far as I could tell, it was a very young crowd. Many of them looked like underage high school kids.

This was a multiple night event. The team covered all the nights. During one of the nights, I was told that an angry sinner pulled a knife on one of the preachers! Amazingly he saw it and was able to jump out of the way! And of course, the sinner who pulled the knife was a professing “Christian” who was attending the event and didn’t like the way the preachers were preaching! It’s crazy! Sometimes I think there’s more demons inside the churches than outside!

Thank God nobody was hurt. We are always praying (and asking for prayer) for protection at these events. When you are on the frontlines of the battle, you really need air support! Thank you to all of our supporters who are praying for us!

I’ve said this many times, my favorite part of the outreach is the fellowship afterwards. It’s not every day that you get to fellowship with strong Christians and likeminded believers. A good meal after a good preach is always a wonderful reward!

TESTIMONIES OF EFFECTIVE

OPEN-AIR PREACHING!

I can’t count how many times I have heard critics say, “This doesn’t work,” “Nobody is going to get saved this way,” “You are turning people off.” Yet at the same time, every single month, I get messages and emails from sinners telling me how they repented and got right with God and their whole life has been changed!

Here are two recent ones:

Amen! The first man said his life was changed and the second said he’s getting closer to Jesus! That’s what it’s all about right there!

Again, thank you to all of our supporters! Our fruit is your fruit! Our reward will be your reward!
