MISSION TRIP:
THE SOUTHERN BORDER
A team of preachers came in from Oklahoma to join me at the Galveston Mardi Gras but the weather forecast on the Island was bad. However, the wife and daughter of one of the brothers was going to the southern border to witness at the Truck Rally so we decided to drive and join them instead!
Eagle Pass is where there is a migrant facility that President Biden and Governor Abbot have been battling jurisdiction and control over recently. Consequently, there was a Texas Trucker Convoy having a rally nearby, to support securing the border! This provided us with a perfect opportunity to share the Gospel with politically conservative like-minded people.
THE FIRST DAY – OUR INTRODUCTION!
When we first arrived Friday evening, there were cars parked everywhere and conservatives walking around with flags and political t-shirts. But it was as QUIET AS A MOUSE out there! No music, no speakers, no nothing. And a bunch of media and journalists from all over the country just standing around, waiting for something to happen. EVERYONE LOOKED BORED!
But as soon as we started preaching on the bullhorn at the main entrance way, suddenly everything sprang to life! We preached about “The Constitution,” “The Founding Fathers,” and “The Faith of our Fathers.”
The media circled around and began recording and taking pictures. This, as we shall see, seemed to provoke some of the event organizers to jealousy and they immediately tried shutting us down.
To our surprise, the “conservative Constitutionalist” event organizers began asking us if we had a “permit” to preach on this public County Road! We explained that of course we have a permit – the Constitution. We were not in the event, which was hosted on private property. We were on the side of the County Road. I pointed to the Utility Poles and said that the public easement always extends from the roads to the Utility Poles.
Yet despite the fact that we had a permit to be here – The Constitution – this conservative event called the County Sheriffs to come and remove us! We were not surprised, however, when the Sheriffs explained to them that we were on public property and had a right to free speech.
We could have stayed right where we were but to give the Sheriffs a “resolution” that they could write in their report, as a courtesy we agreed to move to the other side of the street. When we arrived it was the journalists all congregated on the other side of the street, so that was our audience we faced when we started preaching. But now, on the other side of the street, our speakers were faced towards the event and everyone inside. This second location which we moved to was even better than the first!
Again, since nothing was going on inside the event (no music, no speakers, no nothing), we had zero competition to our message. Everyone from the event came over and gathered across the street to see what was going on. And we preached Jesus to them! We preached Repentance to them! We preached being Born Again to them! The event organizers tried to persuade people from listening to us, but they had nothing else to do!
It was a wild night and once the sunset we decided it was safer to pack up for the day and return tomorrow. Especially when we started seeing beer cans. But we didn’t tell anyone we were coming back tomorrow because we didn’t want anyone to expect us or to set up a speaker system where we planned on preaching. And as we walked back to our car, a Journalist with the Daily Mail came and interviewed me for the paper, which is read online all over the world.
THE SECOND DAY – WE RETURN!
We set up to preach at the same spot Saturday afternoon. This day was the main event, so there were things going on inside. They finally had music and speakers. We anticipated that the event organizers would try to give us a hard time again. We researched the night before and found out that the event was putting organized by some Californian agitators with a history of getting violent and aggressive. We started to wonder if this was a J6 type trap set up for conservatives.
I had only been preaching a few minutes, about how a Return to Christianity was necessary if we are really going to Save the Nation and Make America Great Again, when one of the event organizers came out to harass us. His name was Mike Forzano, from California, with a history of violent aggression. It appears he orchestrated a plan against us to have this White Truck moved and a Green Jeep with loud speakers to take its place – to park next to us and drown out our preaching.
However, nobody told us this Jeep was going to try to park there. We moved out of the way for the truck to leave and when we went back to our preaching spot, this jeep came out of nowhere and started driving into us! No warning! No blinker! No Horn! Just Gas Pedal! It would charge forward and break, charge forward and break, etc.
And Mike Forzano came over and pushed our speaker system, damaging it a little bit. He then proceeded to flex like a peacock and challenge us to a fight. But he quickly fled and disappeared for the rest of the day because the Sheriffs showed up. Amazingly, Mike was hired to be “security” for this event and he was the only person who ever got violent all day!
I confronted the driver of the Jeep. “Driving into people is reckless endangerment” I said. It’s also assault with a deadly weapon and could potentially turn into vehicular homicide. “No it isn’t” he said with a smile. Brandon Sneath was his name and he ended up posting these comments on my Facebook post:
His answer was “FAFO” which means “F*#@! Around and Find Out,” a term that is often used in reference to driving over protestors in the streets. Of course, we were neither protestors nor were we in the street. We were street preachers on the sidewalk and he swerved from the street without warning and ran into us. It’s actually illegal in Texas to turn without your blinker on. If we knew he was going to park there, we would have moved. We would have just moved to a different spot all together, to get away from his speaker system. Which we eventually did.
When he parked his jeep he opened up all his doors and blasted his music to drown us out. Another RV nearby with a “Don’t Treat On Me” flag also continuously honked its loud horn. I told him that he was treading on the Constitution by interrupting our free speech. The Sheriff eventually put a stop to him for making an “unreasonable noise.” And we moved the speaker back across the street, since moving to the other side was simply a courtesy the night before.
We continued to preach for the rest of the day without incident. “Jesus said, You must be born again! Jesus died for your sins! And on the Third Day Jesus Rose from the Dead!” I had many event attendees come up and tell me that they appreciated our message. Many didn’t understand why these “conservative” event organizers were harassing us. I think jealousy over the media attention that first night was the root of the issue. We went to this event to support Closing the Border, Voting for Trump, and just wanted to add Read the Bible and Live for Jesus!
This one man at the event saw what we were doing and loved it! He said that he came to this conservative event to find Christians to be friends with! He was wearing an American Flag T-Shirt and a Jesus hat. And he was so inspired by what we were doing, that he jumped at the opportunity to street preach for the first time! An immediate Street Preacher!! That’s good fruit! We connected him with some local brethren in the Dallas area that he can preach with regularly! Who knows how many souls this brother might go on to lead to Christ! Raising up laborers is one of my favorite things because there’s no telling how many souls might be saved!

But the best part was that a new street preacher got raised up and the message of the New Birth was published all over the world through the news media! That’s good fruit!
